SoA brings in new team. |
Author: steady |
After mutual termination of the cooperation between SoA and the old team we have been working intensely on how to embrace the future.
The situation in the Danish eSport scene is a complicated one at the moment and has been for a long while. The main reasons for eSport’s hard conditions in Denmark compared to our neighbor countries are that we are no more than 5 million people here and that Danish corporate life is way too conservative and therefore have a hard time embracing new areas and ideas. On top of this comes the fact that the big eSport companies in general do not exist in Denmark.
We are often faced with the choice of going to foreign organizations that holds a larger capital or bringing in a foreign roster but money or not SoA is and remains Danish.
Albeit the Danish society is turning around but the speed of which they are turning simply cannot match the development. This means that it has always been difficult to find suited players with the necessary talent, dedication and lust/time to play at a high level. There are loads of talents in Denmark, which we in Denmark have proven on numerous occasions by having Danish players in major foreign organizations but still time is the issue as the Danish eSport scene still have difficulties supporting our players to do nothing but play their game and develop it – it takes time, time and money.
SoA has for a long time by now given many new faces the opportunity to further their eSport career. Hence many of the best Danish players can look back at their stay in SoA as the stepping stone to stardom in Danish Counter-Strike.
With the situation in perspective in Denmark we have this time chosen to bring in a fairly new team with some new faces and talents – although they are nationally well renowned.
It is a team easily labeled as upcoming and even though they have quite some way to go, the choice was easy as they have already shown a lot of dedication and a very strong will to fight for the cause.
We are aware that team is not yet at the level we want SoA to be, the level we have struggled to achieve for so long and the level that our former team came so far with.
Be that as it may they have the dedication, will and talent. What is even more important is that they have a mutual understanding for the handling of the development project and the amount of perseverance needed.
We welcome:
Christian ‘stagep’ Stage
Emil ‘soga’ von Buchwald
Troels ‘Zoop’ Magnussen
Martin ‘woodi’ Holm
Baljit ‘zE-‘ Lal
The team has, with its team manager Ole ‘TN1AP’ Schmidt, already shown that they can participate alongside some of the best players in Denmark at the past two national events.
Ole Schmidt will be joining SoA with his team and will be a part of the management crew for our team.
It is a new step for SoA with the recruitment of some new talents but we feel it is necessary for Danish eSport to take it a step further and we hope and encourage other organizations to bring in new players once in a while as well.
We thank Dansk Metal, Razer, Sennheiser and Sahdee for their support of SoA for such a long time now and look forward to further develop SoA in close cooperation with many dedicated companies and organizations.
On behalf of SoA – welcome to Baljit, Christian, Emil, Troels, Martin and Ole
