9/22/2008 WCG at SLAP LIVE Author: steady

We secured a slot at the WCG LAN-Qualifications coming up at SLAP LIVE #16 in Ballerup Superarena. We received help from an ex. Gravitas Gaming player.

With the greatest understanding stagep had to sit this qualification over and therefore we had to find help from the outside. The former wonder, now Paddy from Viborg, said “aye” to aiding us in our time of need – thank you ever so much Paddy.

The qualification was yet again held by Kepler from ESNation and many good teams competed such as Playzone, NUKEM! and the likes. We went into the competition with the expectations of winning, but losing stagep naturally toned it a bit down again.

The first match was against SLAP Liga team.oAs. It was played on de_dust2 and ended 16-6 in favor of us.

The second match was against Niburu and was played on de_inferno and ended 16-11 in favor of us.

The third match was against Playzone and was played on de_train and ended 19-17 to us after extra-time.

The final was played against NUKEM! and they proved to be aiming quite well. Caught off guard we lost the first map, de_train, with 5-16. This made us pretty damn adamant to win the following map which was to be de_nuke. Here we picked up a little better and although we had a standin with us we ended up winning after extra-time 19-16.
GG to all the teams and especially to NUKEM! for giving us and the spectators an exciting match.

We will see you at BWS-Challenge and at WCG held during SLAP LIVE at SLAP LIVE in Ballerup Superarena.
